Going Natural: PurePotions Natural Shampoo & Conditioner*

I can't say I have tried many natural products except from those from Lush, but the lovely people at PurePotions sent me out their Natural Shampoo and Conditioner which is made for people with sensitive or dry scalps, which in the summer I do tend to get a little, due to sun damage. Trust me, I was a little worried trying a product which is made with 99% natural ingredients, but I was pleasantly surprised, and my hair didn't smell like a farm afterwards!

Firstly, I'd just like to praise the packaging of the products, as squeezy tubes are my favourite way to go with shower products, as they're so much easier to use and you can really get every last drop out. PurePotions don't use any petrochemicals, perfumes, parabens, phthalates or soap-based detergents in their shampoo, and instead use natural alternatives. If we all care so much about what foods we put into our body, why do we not care what we put onto it?

The shampoo doesn't lather as much as I am used to, but it did leave my hair feeling squeaky clean. The shampoo is made with chamomile, nettle and chickweed, and therefore has a very natural scent, but it did leave my hair smelling very clean. It cleansed my hair well, and you can tell it is a shampoo made with the intentions to give effective cleansing without product build-up.

As for the conditioner, I really felt that it nourished my scalp, and due to the hemp seed oil, my hair felt smooth. Over the next day or so, I really noticed my scalp was less irritated after using these two combined, and I think I am going to continue to use them. As much as I love a shampoo that lathers, I am pleased with the effect that these two had on both my hair and my scalp. The fact that the smell isn't overpowering too is a bonus.

I'm all for natural products and am really trying to use more when there are options readily available. You can get hold of the PurePotions Natural Shampoo and Conditioner via their website for £18 each.
