Muse of London: Chocolate Crusade Treatment*

If you'd have told me in 2013 that a hairdressers would be asking me if I could visit their salon and review their new hair treatments in exchange for a blog post, I'd have probably laughed in your face. However, a few weeks ago, the lovely guys at Muse of London held a celebration for their 5th Birthday, and also to showcase their new colour range called Chocolate Crusade. It was a fabulous evening with a chocolate fountain that I spent the entire night stood next to, chocolate themed cocktails - which were insane, and I left desperate to give my hair a little oomph. The next day, the lovely guys got in touch with me again to ask if I would like to try out one of the new colours, and obviously I said yes.

Soft, Straight, Silky Hair

We all want hair like what we see in the L'oreal adverts, but realistically our hair will never look like that. Recently I bleached and dyed the ends of my hair turquoise and blue, so the ends are incredibly dry and brittle. I thought it was near enough impossible to get a shine on my hair now, however it isn't! I have found a good combination of products that work well to help me achieve softer and silkier hair.    

 The first is just to use a good moisture replenishing hair mask. The one I have been using is the Pantene 2 Minute Deep Repair Masque which was on reduced in Boots. To be honest I just tend to pick up the cheapest moisturising mask because they all do wonders for my hair. I leave it on for about 3 minutes before I rinse, just to give it time to soak in and do the job. 

Once I have towel dried my hair I spritz it with some heat protectant spray just to stop my hair getting any more damaged, and also some Pantene Overnight Nourishing Spray. I also apply two pumps of the Bed Head Ego Boost Split End Mender which makes my ends much softer. 
Most days I blast my hair with my hair dryer for about a minute and then give up and just let it dry naturally, which is much better for your hair anyway. To straighten my hair I use my GHD IV Straighteners, and then I spray the mid-lengths to ends with my new holy grail hair product, the Batiste Dry Conditioner. After spraying I brush it through just to work it into the hair and even it out. Trust me, it makes my hair feel so incredibly soft and I was mind blown the first time I used it. Et voila!

Thats pretty much it, but trust me these products make such a difference to my hair when I straighten it and I feel like I've just stepped out of the hair dressers! 

Summer Hair Update

The past few weeks I have really been wanting a change and decided to change up my hair today. Since I have a super long summer ahead of me and no longer have school rules to think about, I decided to go crazy!

I have had this exact image bookmarked on my laptop for literally a year and I just think its so beautiful, so I tried to recreate it with the help of my friends. Obviously I knew it wouldn't come out exactly like this because there's no way my hair would get to such a pale lilac colour. 
On Tuesday I dyed my hair brown over my red, which didn't exactly work and there is still very much a red tint to my hair which is so annoying but I didn't want to damage it any further by re dying it. 
Anyway, today I had to bleach the ends, and I used the Jerome Russell Bblonde Maximum Lift Blonding Kit which was only £4.99 I believe. It worked fairly well but since my hair is red the colour it bleached to was very orange toned. The bleach was left on for 90 minutes, and my hair did feel slightly brittle after using it.   

To get the colours on the bottom I used the La Riche Directions hair dye in Lavender and Neon Blue. These dyes were ridiculously cheap and really didn't make my hair feel too damaged which I liked. They are semi-permanent so I will have to go over them soon but I love how they turned out.

Doesn't quite look like my hairspiration picture but I still bloody love it and it looks quite Katy Perry-esque.
