Wonderstruck Perfume Review

Hi guys!

So this is a post that I have been meaning to do for a very very long time (and its now a very old product) - and now that I have got onto my third bottle of this perfume, I feel it is time to write you guys a review.
Of course, it is the gorgeous Wonderstruck by Taylor Swift. For those of you who were unaware, Taylor Swift is potentially my all time favourite person in the whole entire world - so I apologise if this post is slightly biased - but I do think this perfume is amazing even for those people who may not be as fond as I am of Taylor.

please excuse my vile chipped nail polish...

I got my first bottle of this perfume for Christmas 2012, and I have worn it religiously every day since. Personally, I have not found many celebrity perfumes that smell amazing as they usually smell very tacky and cheap, in my opinion. The scent of Wonderstruck is completely different, and is obviously aimed at people my age, rather than the older woman. To me, it smells fruity, kind of like raspberry and peach with a hint of vanilla - and some people say green tea, although I am yet to smell this underlying scent. For me, this perfume is perfect for during the day as it is so light and floral scented.
The staying power of this perfume isn't amazing, although it is an Eau De Parfum - and I find that I do have to reapply it.

The packaging is just so gorgeous, designed by Taylor herself, I think it really reflects the name of the perfume and the magical scent it has. The bottle itself is purple with a holographic effect finish, and there is a chain that runs along the top with bird cages and other interesting charms.

Wonderstruck is available from all the regular Fragrance shops on the highstreet, however I have found it to be cheaper from Fragrance Direct,  where the 100ml retails for £32.50.

London Fashion Weekend - 20/09/2013

Hey guys!
On Friday I was lucky enough to go to London Fashion Weekend with 3 of my friends. We got so much free stuff and it was such an amazing day so I thought i'd share some of my freebies and photos with you all.

When we first arrived we collected our goodie bag which was full of food, coffee, makeup and other random things. The actual bag itself was such a cute and quirky design, and I'll probably take it with me when I go shopping (saving the planet and all).

Here are all my freebies and a few photos from the day...
The first product that I noticed in my goodie bag was these amazing Label.M hair care products. Label.M is owned by Toni&Guy, and when I was on work experience at an advertising and marketing agency, I had to help create some marketing campaigns for Label.M so I was so happy I could finally try some of their products. I got the dry shampoo and shine spray included with my goodie bag which I was thrilled about. My L'oreal shine spray is amazing, but it's slowly running out, so I am glad I now have one to replace it with!

The next thing I picked out was this Maybelline Colour Sensational Lipstick in the shade Fuchsia Flash which is a gorgeous fuchsia (duh) pinky sort of tone. It's a very bold colour, one that I wouldn't necessarily have bought myself, but I think it could work given the right occasion. The application is so smooth and the lipstick itself is so pigmented. I absolutely love the packaging its very much like the Maybelline Pop Stick lipsticks but slightly more red.

Another Maybelline product that was in my bag was this gorgeous red nail polish. It is from the Vintage Leather collection and is called Red Grained. It has small grainy bits in it which I believe are glitter particles but I'm not entirely sure. The flakes aren't particularly visible when you apply the nail pain but I will do a full review later in the week so you can all see what it looks like on.

The last makeup item was a bit of a let down because, like most people, I do not wear electric blue mascara. I prefer to stick to the natural colour of my eyelashes, which happens to be black not blue. The product was the Maybelline Colour Shock Mascara, which has cool packaging - but I don't think it will be coming out of this packaging anytime soon.

The other bits and bobs were Natural Sweets, tea and coffee - but I'm sure since this is mainly a beauty blog, you guys don't really want to hear about that (which is good because I haven't opened any of them).
When we were going round the show, there was so many other free bits being handed out to us, for example lots of Kinder Buenos - yum. We found the ELLE magazine stand and they had a fantastic offer on which was a years subscription for £15! Considering Elle is around £4 something for one issue, I couldn't turn down the offer. Especially when I found out what they were giving away when you subscribed.
You got a free mini Benefit They're Real Mascara, and a Benefit Hoola Bronzer! The Hoola Bronzer isn't quite my colour, infact it's my exact skin colour, which is so sad because it's a great bronzer for contouring and it retails at £23. I am selling this on my eBay because I know someone else will make better use of it than I will.

There was also an amazing Maybelline stand where they had created 4 looks and put the products they used to create that look into a mini gift box. You could choose which look you wanted to recreate and you would receive the box, complete with all the makeup required inside. Mine was free as it was included with the ticket, however you could buy them separately for £10 if you wanted. It was such a bargain because all the products together totalled to around £25.
I chose the look called Electric Punk - and in my box there was the Mega Plush Mascara, the Eyestudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner in Intense Black, 2 Colour Show Nail polishes in Electric Pink and Blackout, and lastly the Super Stay 14 HR Lipstick in the colour Continuous Cranberry (what a name!).

That is pretty much it for all the free stuff from LFW, so I shall leave you with some pictures of the catwalk and from the day in general!

Thanks for reading! I'll be doing some reviews of the products I got later on in the week and I'll do another post in the next week or so about the different styles that are in AW13.

My First Two Glossyboxes

Hi guys,
So the other day I was setting up a Glossybox account so that I could subscribe and start receiving my monthly boxes. Turns out that Glossybox were having a sale and had leftover July and March editions that they were selling for £12 (for the pair). I could not turn this offer down, especially since there was a Ciaté nail polish in the July box!
For those of you who don't know what Glossybox is, where have you been?! It is a monthly subscription service where you pay £10 + p&p for a selection of high end products in a beautiful box. There is usually 5 products in each box, most of which are small samples or travel size versions of the products, however you do usually get one full sized product. Most of the time its a very good deal, as the full sized product is usually well over the amount you paid for the whole box, although on the odd occasion it isn't.
You can cancel the subscription at any time so its a fairly wonderful service.
This week my March&July boxes arrived, along with my September one! (which I will do a post about later)

Inside my March box I received the Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Night Cream, Jelly Pong Pong Lip Blush, A Mini Nails Inc (Bruton St),  Tresemme Salon Finish Extra Hold Hairspray and lastly the Monu Aromatic Mask.

I was so unbelievably excited when I opened my first Glossybox to see this mini! Its one of those cult beauty products that I have wanted to try for ages, after reading many blog posts about how amazing it was. This beauty can do so many things, from healing chapped lips to smoothing cuticles. I have used this product 3 times now, just a small amount all over my face, and there's still tonnes left, and my face is incredibly soft.

2. Jelly Pong Pong Lip Blush
Before receiving this Glossybox I had not actually heard much about the brand Jelly Pong Pong before. To be honest I wasn't even sure what they sold, however I love lip crayons so when I saw this I was super duper happy. It is supposed to be a moisturizing lip balm and a stain at the same time. I have only tried out this product once, and I have to say, it was very moisturizing however the colour did not stay on well at all. If I didn't know better I would not have called this a stain. When you apply one coat the colour is very sheer, however it is easy to build up if you wanted to. It retails at £12 which, I think it slightly over priced considering the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm stains have much nicer packaging, better staying power and a nicer colour range for only £7.99.

I'm not sure entirely how I feel about this product. I love Nails Inc polishes (although they are nowhere near my favourite brand for polishes) so I was a bit disappointed when this one came. I applied it to my nails and it was so thick and streaky. I'm not sure if this is just because maybe the mini's are not as high quality as the full sized products or what but it just wasn't a great product for me. The colour was lovely but everything else was a slight downfall for me - sorry Nails Inc! This product retails at £11.

I am yet to use this hairspray because I have so many on the go, but I have heard many things about this wonderful mini-size hairspray. I think its perfect to keep in my handbag and I plan to save it for when I go on holiday next year to keep in my bag for the evening. I heard that lots of people were disappointed receiving this product in their Glossybox but I think it was a wonderful product to receive because its practical and lets be honest we'll all use it! I believe that the full size is £4.69.

I am also yet to try the Monu Mask, "this is pointless if you haven't even used it" I hear you all cry, but I just wanted to show you all what I got in my Glossybox March. I will review this product if you all want me to, so just drop a comment down below. I think that this product is super cute, and I am forever having pamper evenings where I want to use a face mask, and I never have any. At the moment I am using a soap and glory one so I am not going to use the Monu one for a month or so. In fact I may also keep this for when I go on holiday because it'd be nice to use in the evening. I believe this full sized retails at around £30.

The July box came in a beautiful holiday themed box which is super pretty and will go perfectly in my ocean themed makeup chest. Inside this gorgeous box I got Alterna Bamboo Style Boho Waves Tousled Texture Mist, Coola Mineral Face SPF 20 Unscented,  Inecto Pure Coconut Refreshing Dry Shampoo, ILA Spa Face Oil and a Ciate Paint Pot in Island Hopping.

I have been thinking about buying a texture mist for a few weeks now because my L'oreal Salt Spray just wasn't working for me, as it was drying my hair out loads and my hair is pretty dry and dead at the moment anyway. I was happy to see that this mini Alterna Texture Mist was included in my box because it meant I could try a higher end one before buying it. I will let you guys all know how I get on with this one because I realise that so many people are into the big textured hair look at the moment.

Unfortunately, since I only got this box at the end of September, I kind of missed the small length of time that I would need to wear sun cream in England. Therefore I am keeping this mini for holiday, as there is no point using it now when the temperatures have dropped and the sun doesn't even make an appearance. I believe that the full size retails at £25. Personally - a bit disappointed with the appearance of this product in my glossybox.

I was so happy when I found a dry shampoo in my Glossybox because my one had finished (luckily because it choked me every time I bloody used it). This one smells so gorgeous and it doesn't make you choke when you spray it. It does a good job at making hair look clean, and often I apply this to my hair just to give it that extra bit of oomph when I straighten it, because often this leaves my hair flat. Definitely a good everyday product. This product is around £3.29.

Again I am yet to use this product but I have high hopes for it. It is supposed to work well under makeup, remove scarring and rejuvenate the skin. It sounds a weenie bit like Bio-Oil but for the face, however I am not too familiar with this product so I can't guarantee that. It retails at £75.00  for the full sized product. I will also review this when I get round to using it!

Me + Ciate Nail Polish = Happy. I was overjoyed to see this product in my July box because I have been meaning to buy a red Ciate polish for so long, but they're hard to get hold of in the shops. Island Hopping is a red colour with a slight orangey shimmer to it. I am so excited to use this product nearer to Christmas - I don't know why but it just screams Christmas to me! Plus the packaging for these is just gorgeous.

Well, that was a long post wasn't it! Sorry for all you readers who hate reading long posts but it was all slightly overdue and I needed to shove this into one post!
