Blue Liner, Say Wha'?!

On yet another trip to KIKO I saw some eyeliners on sale, and this cobalt blue one caught my eye. Its called the Miami Click Slick Liner, and it came in six colours I believe; a light brown, a dark brown, a turquoise, a gold, a black, and the cobalt blue. I've been searching for a good bright blue eyeliner for ages, as it really makes my brown eyes pop, and I think I have found the one

The liners formula is supposedly more than 50% water, which means that the colour is revealed instantly. Not only this, but the brush is very fine which means that you can create a variety of liner types, however I personally like it best for a traditional winged liner. I find that the colour payoff is brilliant, however it can be very easy to take the colour off if you go over the same spot more than once. It is a little strange working with a brush rather than a pen style nib, but it is a lot easier than the brush makes it look.

With a gold eyeshadow on the lower lash line I think this looks beautiful, and a much more summery alternative to the classic black liner, although Summer is nearly at a close.

Healthy Chicken and Quinoa Salad

This has fast become my all time favourite dinner to create, I absolutely adore it! You may think its strange because it is only a salad, but truly it tastes divine and its the most filling salad I have ever had.

Ingredients
Quinoa
Feta
Salad Leaves
Pepper
Cucumber
Avocado
Chicken (I used Fillets this time but much prefer Breasts *giggles*)
Olives
A dressing

I fry my chicken in coconut oil, and then wash the salad and chop the other veggies. The avocado is my favourite because it has such a lovely taste and adds some healthy fats into the salad, and keeps me going for longer. There isn't much to this recipe it's pretty self explanatory when you look at the ingredients. Obviously if you use the quinoa that requires cooking then you must do this before adding it to the salad, but I cheat and just use a Jamie Oliver microwave pack, which is probably far less healthy but makes the cooking process ten times quicker. The pack also contains Buckwheat which I am a huge fan of.

Let me know if you create this salad, I really love it!

Duty Free Pick-Up's

What is going on holiday without having a stop and a splurge in Duty Free? I am the biggest culprit for spending too much money before my holiday has actually begun, but sometimes you just cannot ignore the bargains! My first purchase was MAC Chilli Lipstick which is a matte finish. It is a dull toned red which is much more wearable than say Ruby Woo, and it is definitely one of the more comfortable reds. Initially I did want to pick up more than just this one lipstick, but the Duty Free shop was closing so I just had to pick up the one.

We wanted to have a look in JD as well, since the Duty Free prices are just so much more reasonable. My lovely boyfriend bought me a pair of trainers and this lovely floral crop top for the gym. The trainers are the Nike Flex Trainer 5 Training Shoes, and I am absolutely in love with them. They are the most comfortable trainers I have ever owned, and they go with all my gym outfits which is brilliant since before I was going to the gym in blue leggings and pink trainers (not a good look I assure you). The crop top was from a brand called Supply and Demand which I hadn't actually heard of, but all of their stuff was incredibly fashionable and feminine which is something hard to find in gym gear. I was very tempted to the matching bottoms but they didn't have the full length ones in stock so I left those behind.

What are your favourite things to pick up at Duty Free?

A Break in Paradise

So I have just come back from the most relaxing, paradise-like holiday I have ever been on, and I wanted to share some of my pictures with you.

I went to a small resort in Majorca called Camp De Mar with my boyfriend, and we stayed at the Grupotel Playa Camp De Mar, which is an adults only hotel. It is the most friendly hotel I have ever stayed at, and the majority of the guests were over 40, but this was perfect for us as we didn't want to have a loud holiday. The food was absolutely delightful, I'm pretty sure I put on a stone just from eating so much food, but there was so much choice and I wanted to try everything. At breakfast time there was a whole table of Smoked Salmon, Cava and other fancy things that you just wouldn't expect, and at dinner there was a massive chocolate fountain amongst other things. The food was different everyday which meant we didn't get bored once.

We spent every single day just lying on sunbeds and lounging around, not bothering to explore, and this made it the most relaxing break. We've said that when we return (hopefully next year), we will take more time out to explore, but it's just so overwhelming being able to stare at the sea and have warm sunshine beating down on you, we really didn't want to move.

I personally think that Camp De Mar was like a small tropical island, you'd never think it was on Majorca, or even so close to a place like Magaluf. If you're looking for a getaway where you can just lie around all day and relax then I cannot recommend Camp De Mar enough! Hopefully you can see from the following pictures just how beautiful it truly was.

Where have you been on holiday this year?

The Perfect Post Workout Protein Ball

I'll admit, my protein balls do not look like the most delicious things on the planet, but trust me, they taste far better than they look. I created these after searching for hours and hours for the perfect protein ball recipe which I had all the ingredients for, and there just wasn't one. Therefore I decided to have a crack at making my own, and I won't lie, I am quite impressed with the turnout. These make a lovely pre or post workout snack, and definitely satisfy any sweet cravings.

Ingredients
- 2 Scoops of Purition Chocolate Protein Powder
- 4 tbs Meridian Peanut butter
- 2 tbs cacao powder
- 2 tbs Maple Syrup (can use Agave Nectar)
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp cinnamon

To make the balls I mixed all the ingredients together in a bowl to form a sort of dough. I then rolled them into small balls approximately an inch wide in my hand, and placed them in a tub in the fridge. Personally I think they are best when they have been in the fridge for an hour or two, but they are perfectly fine to eat as they are. Obviously you can substitute your own protein powder into the recipe, but this is just the one I have at home.

Let me know if you try them out and what you think! I am fully aware they are no chocolate bar but they are far healthier.

July Favourites 2015

It's that time again to share with you what I have been loving throughout the past month. I haven't really been wearing much in the way of makeup this month, so there aren't many new beauty finds this month, sorry!

1) Kiko Water Eyeshadow 205
This is the most pigmented eyeshadow I have bought in a while, and it is one which you can use wet or dry which I love, as I am a huge fan of using eyeshadows wet as the colour payoff is just ten times better. This shadow blends beautifully, and I tend to use it to create a beautiful brown smokey eye, which is appropriate for wear during the day or the evening. There are so many other stunning colours in the Water Eyeshadow collection so I am tempted to buy some more!

2) GOSH Lip Liner in Nougat Crisp
I bought this after watching Lilly Melrose's videos where she mentioned how much she loved Nougat Crisp. In general I am a massive fan of the GOSH Lip Liners, I think they are the best liners available from the Drugstore as they don't leave the lips feeling dry, and they do a wonderful job of keeping your lipstick on for longer. Nougat Crisp is just the perfect pinky-brown toned nude, which works lovely under my MAC Taupe Lipstick. If you are struggling to find a good nude lip liner if you have slightly darker skin, then I would definitely give this one a go.

3) MAC Face and Body C5
As I previously mentioned, I haven't really been wearing much makeup this month, in particular foundations. However, when the odd event has come up I have been reaching for MAC Face and Body, as it is the lightest and most comfortable on the skin out of all the foundations in my collection. It is easy to build up the coverage, however you will never get more than a medium coverage with this foundation. The finish is lovely as it leaves the skin looking fresh and hydrated, rather than matte and cakey which is the best look for the warm weather. Saying this, it is definitely not oily on the skin, and would be suitable for most skin types.

4) Barry M Gelly Greenberry
Am I the only person who is finding painting their nails such a chore recently?! I used to love sitting down and painting my nails but I just don't seem to find the time to do it any more. Therefore I have been reaching for the Barry M Gelly range again, as I find that they last the longest out of all the polishes I own. In particular I have been loving Greenberry this month, which is a gorgeous dark mint green/turquoise colour which is perfect for this time of the year. I love how these polishes stay super shiny for ages too!

5) Soap and Glory Sugar Crush Body Scrub
I am heading away this month so throughout July I have just been prepping my skin for the sun by scrubbing it thoroughly once a week. I find that the Sugar Crush scrub is very grainy and therefore does a good job at making my skin smooth and removing all the dead skin cells. It is also very moisturising on the skin, so does not leave it feeling sore or damaged from the scrubbing. Not to mention that it smells divine, like sugar and lime.

6) Daredevil
As a Marvel lover I was so excited when Netflix announced Daredevil, however I was so busy watching other series I only got round to starting it in July. I am around 7 episodes in and am absolutely loving it. The show is about a blind superhero in Hell's Kitchen, who is also a lawyer - his backstory is also really interesting. If you love action shows then I would really recommend this for you, however it does get very violent, but this is not something that phases me in particular.

7) Teen Wolf
Teen Wolf started back up at the end of June and I have been absolutely hooked onto the show again. If you aren't familiar with the show, it's a fantasy drama surrounding the lives of teenagers who have mythical powers, such as being a werewolf. It sounds like your average girly teen drama, but I really think it would appeal to slightly older people and males too, as there is a lot more action than there is 'girly drama'.

8) MaxiNutrition Dark Chocolate Protein Bar
Recently I have been really pushing myself to go to the gym five times a week at least, whether that be a Zumba or Pilates Class, or just hitting up the gym and doing a bit of cardio and weights. When I find myself doing weights, I like to make sure I am helping my muscles to recover as quickly as possible by adding extra protein into my diet, which is where this bar comes in. I only tend to have half a bar after my workout, and for me this is substantial and I find my muscles not hurting so much the next day, and it also satisfies any sweet cravings I have when I have finished my workout. It really does taste like a chocolate bar, unlike many other protein bars, so I would highly recommend this to anyone who goes to the gym to lift weights in particular.

What have been your favourites this month?
