Hello everyone!
I just got in from Sixth Form and guess what was waiting for me? My October Glossybox!
I was so excited to open this considering the theme was Dark Romance, and I was expecting dark burgundy nail polish and berry lipstick, but no.
I'm not going to lie, this month was a bit of a disappointment. I don't quite understand how any of these products, except the Cheek and Lip Tint, relate to the theme.
Anyway, the box contained MeMeMe Cherubs Blush, which is a dupe of the Benefit 'Benetint'. Incidently I have never tried the Benetint. Initially, this product just didn't appeal to me. the consistency is horrible and thin, and to me it just looked like a nail polish. However, I did swatch it on my hand, and then rub it in, and I can see why people love it. Its so light and works into the skin very easily. I think it will look better on my lips than my cheeks but still, I do love it! It retails for £5.50.
One layer - comes out very light pink |
The next product that I picked out was the sample of the Katy Perry Killer Queen perfume. This is described as a 'Floriental' scent, and I would describe it as a mature floral scent with a few fruity tones. I find that most celebrity perfumes smell very cheap and young, however this one is a lot more mature and I would say it is suitable for older women. It retails at approximately £29.50 for 50ml.
The third product I pulled out was the Premae Multi-Vit Smoothie Serum. Premae is a brand that produces products that are kind to the skin, and this serum is aimed at people with combination skin. It helps to soothe redness and moisturize and hydrate the skin, but also reducing shine.
It can be applied in a number of ways -to the skin before makeup, just as a regular morning and evening serum, or it can be mixed with your foundation. I think I will probably use this in the morning and evening to test out how well it works before I buy the full size product. I will do a thorough review on this product once I have finished it because it sounds like the perfect thing for my skin. The full size product is 50ml and retails at £22.50.
Second to last was this Monu Illuminating Primer. Now, in a previous Glossybox I received a face mask from Monu and I really enjoyed using it, so I have high hopes for this primer. You can use this a regular primer under makeup, as a tinted moisturizer or simply on its own. I love the packaging for this, I mean, it's so plain but it just looks so cute and reminds me of the old L'oreal kids shampoos!
It retails at £22 on feelunique.com for 50ml.
Lastly, was these "Broadway Nails" by imPress. Now, I was not "imPressed" by these at all! I hate fake nails and I never ever wear them because my nails are fairly long anyway. These will probably go to a lovely friend if they're willing to pay me for them - or I might do a stingy giveaway or something because these are actually meant to be really good. I have heard good things from my best friend about these false nails, however they're just not for me. These are £7.99 and you can buy them in Boots!
