Autumn Trend: Vampy Lips

Hi all!

I've noticed that a lot of brands have bought out what I would call "vampy" colors this month in terms of lip colour, and I've seen the look featured on the cover of many magazines. I found a few "vampy" lipsticks that I own and thought I would share them with you.

There are some plum colours, some red and some slightly more brown tones. Admittedly, some of these colours are very bold, and can be slightly intimidating on paler skin tones. However if you keep your cheeks and eyes natural or neutral when wearing these bold lips, the look will be much more manageable and gorgeous.

1. Rimmel Kate Moss - 04
This colour is so dark and gothic, which I love. I think this colour looks nicest when you're wearing a mainly black outfit because it is such a brave colour to wear and the purple tones make it hard to match with a lot of outfits.

2. NYC - Velvet Wine
I recently rediscovered this lipstick because it was in the bottom of my lipstick box and hasn't been touched since last winter! To me, it is very similar to MAC Dark Side (featured below) but more on the burgundy side. This lipstick is only something like £1.99 which is amazing considering it is so pigmented.

3. MAC - Dark Side
One of my favourite MAC lipsticks for sure! Its a gorgeous purple/red tone and reminds me of blackcurrants. Obviously this is on the higher end of the price scale at £15 - although the wear of this is much longer than the others in this post, and it is much more creamy and smooth to apply to the lips.

4. LA Colours - Matte Berry Ice
In this picture my lips look really pale red but this lipstick is a dark pinky-red. Its a sort of "just bitten" look with a glossy layer over the top. Not as vampy as the other colours but still gorgeous for Autumn, and only £1!

5. YSL - Legendary Mocha
This colour is a dark brown that I would consider more appropriate for daytime wear. The YSL Lipsticks have such a glossy formula and I love this one - however it's not actually mine, oops. It's my mums but I love it! Its so smooth to apply and you don't need gloss or vaseline over the top!

Swatch time!

With a flash...

For me, dark colours are the way to go for autumn/winter. My skin is a medium to dark tone and therefore wearing pale colours doesn't suit me too well.
Have you guys got any favourite dark berry colours to wear on your lips in Autumn/Winter?

Don't forget to follow!
