Collection Speedy Blush Stick

We all love a quick fix when it comes to doing our Makeup in the morning, and I think I have found my new Autumn favourite 'Speedy' Blush. It comes from Collection, and is a stick which you can just draw onto the cheeks and blend out with your fingers or a brush. Personally I find it easier to blend it out with my fingers, and it is also much quicker. However, when I do use a brush I use the Real Techniques Stippling Brush. The range also contains a highlighter stick which I was also tempted to, however I own way too many highlighters to justify buying another.

I have the blush shade 'Pinch Me' which is a gorgeous plum tone with a tiny bit of shimmer in, which is perfect for the Autumn Season, and looks lovely with a berry toned lip. With a flawless base this creates the most natural glow on the cheeks. However, I often wear it without any other base products as it blends in well on my skin.

Although these are very pigmented, when they are blended out they look natural on the skin, and this is how I like to wear them, as on my skin it gives that natural "pinched" look. They can definitely be built up to a more extreme blush if that is what you are in to.

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer VS. Collection Illuminating Touch Concealer

Who doesn't love the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer, lets be honest? However, the other day I was in Superdrug and all the Collection products were under £4 - so I thought I would pick up the Illuminating Touch Concealer and see if it was any match to the Lasting Perfection.

I wasn't sure whether you guys would want a written review or a comparison so I thought I would do a little bit of both.

Lasting Perfection This concealer has a very thick consistency and has medium to full coverage. It is not the easiest of concealers to blend as it is so thick, but with a brush it is much easier to blend. I tend to use it on red spots and under my eyes to cover my dark circles however it can sometimes be a bit too cakey and heavy for under the eyes. There isn't an amazing colour selection, only 4 colours, so most of you will probably have to mix a couple of shades together which is what I have to do. The doe foot applicator isn't the most hygienic of all applicators but it does mean you can get the concealer precisely where you want it. I would say this concealer is perfect for those of you wanting to cover red areas and spots. 

Illuminating Touch  If you thought Lasting Perfection had a bad colour selection, this bad boy only has 3 shades in its collection (pardon the pun). It has a pen style applicator which I just love because I enjoy winding it up to get the product out - which means I normally get carried away and end up with far too much! It has a medium texture but still a medium coverage, which makes it even better for under eye darkness and other dark areas! I love using it to highlight the centre of my nose too. When applied under the eyes it does not crease or seep into your pores and fine lines which is always handy. I also use this on my eye lid before applying my Maybelline 24 Hr Colour Tattoo because it neutralises the eyelids. 

All in all both concealers are amazing for drugstore products, but Lasting Perfection is better for redness and Illuminating Touch is better for darkness. Both the concealers are £4.99 normally, and are available from Boots and Superdrug.

Collection Deluxe Lipstick

Surprise surprise I was in Superdrug the other day, and I was browsing at the Collection stand and saw they have released a new range of lipsticks called "Deluxe" lipsticks (after my research I found they were actually released a few months ago!). I saw this gorgeous pinky red colour and I couldn't walk away without it, so I bought it...oops.

The one I bought is called Prohibition, however there are 5 colours in the range, all with 20's themed names which is super cute. The formulation of the lipstick is so creamy and smooth to apply due to the Shea Butter ingredient, and this makes the product wonderful for this time of year when your lips can become dry and chapped due to the cold weather. Overall the texture is very velvety and the lipstick itself has a fairly average staying power, not amazing, although I do find that most Collection lipsticks do not have great staying power. The finish is glossy and wearable, with no shimmer or glitter.

WHY does my camera make my skin look so awful and dry?!

 

This colour is a gorgeous pink toned red for autumn, and not as daring as a bold bright red such as MAC's Ruby Woo. It works so well with darker coloured clothing and I truly am so glad I picked this lipstick up to add to my collection.

It was only £3.99 - however Boots and Superdrug do have all their makeup on 3 for 2 at the moment (at least they did when I bought this lipstick) so it could be a wonderful bargain if you have other things to buy. Another great product from Collection in my eyes!

Get Cara Delevingnes' Natural Look!

I have this new found love for Cara Delevingne and her eyebrows. To be totally honest she is who inspired me to sort my eyebrows out and make them more even and bold!
I created this little collage of all the things I think you need to create this natural look that Cara has in most of her Burberry photos. Obviously I am no makeup genius, however from what I know and have tried, I believe that you can create a similar (less expensive) image with these products.
One thing that seems to have fallen off my product list is the Sleek Eyebrow Kit which in all honesty is the thing that holds this look together. It contains a wax and a powder - and together they create perfect bold eyebrows. You do have to perfect the technique of applying the product because too much can ruin the effect you're going for.
I believe the Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation would be a good alternative to the, probably, incredibly expensive one in which Cara has in this photo. It makes the skin look revived and bright, whilst leaving a natural look but also providing good coverage. I know this post isn't detailed because I didn't want it to turn into a tutorial, just a "here's the products you need" sort of thing.
